Stampy Room Re-Do

My sweet hubby recently helped me rearrange my entire craft room, and here are some pictures of the finished product. All we need to do yet is put some nice shelves on the walls to hold photos and trinkets and such. Of course I had to include a picture of my oh-so-pretty fuzzy kitty. In typical kitty fashion, he likes to plop down right where I'm trying to work. He looks quite content, doesn't he? So cute!

The table behind my desk is a new purchase. It's perfect to hold my Cricut, Cuttlebug, and sewing machine. There's even enough room for my paper cutter. My closet is stuffed full of supplies in all sorts of boxes and little containers. Makes me happy!! I already posted earlier today about my button containers. Scroll down or click HERE. Button, Button, Who's Got the Button?

Lookie, lookie what I found! I found these containers at Jo-Ann's, and they work perfectly for my Papertrey Ink buttons! They're stackable and connect together so they stay put; and the lids screw on and off, so no spills! Score!

Photo Inspiration

Yes, I'm back with my second post for today. Two posts in one day...wow! Like I said in my first post HERE, I finally had time to play! This is another inspiration challenge, this time from Melissa Phillips. I just LOVE these colors together....so soothing and happy. I used Rustic Cream, Aqua Mist, Spring Moss, and Ripe Avacado from Papertrey Ink, as well as Damask Designs for the stamps. The little string of beads was fun to do....I wanted it to resemble the beading in the photo. And I just had to add more flowers because I liked them so much on my card from earlier today. And how could I forget to mention the sparkly glitter?! Isn't it pretty....look at it shine! Thanks for stopping by - have a wonderful weekend!

Stamping Around Inspiration Challenge

Happy Saturday! I'm glad it's the weekend....I ~finally~ had time to create. I wanted to play along with the fun challenge posted on the Stamping Around blog. Here is my take on the inspiration photo. I used Kraft and Berry Sorbet cardstock, Spring Moss (my *favorite*) ribbon, and Damask Designs and Background Basics: Petal Power stamp sets, all from Papertrey Ink. Then I added some pretty flowers, just like the ones in the basket. I'll be posting another card yet today for another challenge, so check back later if you want to see. Have a great day!

Paper Piecing with Betsy Veldman

Hello, and happy Wednesday! Wow, where has the week gone? Last week Betsy Veldman had a great post on paper piecing and invited everyone to play along. I chose to paper piece part of the background of these two cards. I love the way it turned out...looks kind of like a quilt, right? The best part is that it was super easy....I just took my handy dandy 1" square punch and punched out a bunch of different patterned papers and lined them up how I wanted them to go and glued them to the card base. All that was left to do was add some fun embellies....like ribbon and buttons and twine and a bit of stitching and some cute sentiments. This was fun! Thank you Betsy!

Papertrey Ink "paint" by number challenge

The Papertrey Ink anniversary festivities continue on Nichole Heady's blog. Today she has issued a "paint" by number challenge, and was it FUN! This is the paint by number sketch, complete with measurements, which made for a quick card. Loved that! And here is the color palette I was to use, based on my online username. These were such fun colors to work with--all my favorites (especially Spring Moss)!

And here is my card. The polka dots on the Lemon Tart cardstock were stamped with Ocean Tides ink, as well as the sentiment. Well, that's all for me tonight. I'm anxious to see what Nichole has in store for tomorrow....

Cards, Cards, and More Cards....

Happy Sunday! I had a fun-filled week of making cards and other various crafty projects while my hubby was out of town, so I have lots to show you today. The first one is a fun Valentine's card that I whipped together really fast. See....I told you that you might be seeing more pink from me. The size was fun -- it's 2.5 x 5.5 and was easy to fill up. The cute heart stamp at the bottom is from Lizzie Anne from their latest monthly mix set.
The next few cards (with the nifty bird cage) were really fun, too! The stamps are from My Cute Stamps, and I copied the layouts from Michelle Wooderson (Mish Mash). I get lots of my layout ideas from her.....her style is so fun and fresh, yet simple to achieve. And the last few cards are just more that I made this past week. Have a great week everyone!

Inspirational Photo Challenge

So, I didn't quite meet my goal of posting to my blog each week. Sigh...just not enough time in the day/week; and the days/weeks just slip by so fast. But I'm here today with a card I made for Melissa Phillips' inspirational photo challenge. You can see her post HERE.

The photo is incredible. Even though anyone who knows me knows that I'm not much of a pink or purple type of girl, I still think it's a beautiful photo. I had to really dig through my supplies to find these colors! heh, heh... But you might start seeing more pinks on my cards - bright pink. I don't know if it's all the Valentine's projects I'm seeing lately or what, but I think it's starting to grow on me. I got the "poofy" flower idea from Dawn McVey in this post. She even has a video tutorial on how to make the flowers. Too fun...I made quite a few the other day with old book pages like Dawn used. I used tissue paper to make the flower on this card. I just love the glittery button! I'm totally into glitter and sparkle right now. Makes quite a mess, but it looks so pretty!

A Christmas Day

Happy Saturday! This week was so busy and went by so fast that I didn't get a chance to make any cards until today. And lucky for me the temp only reached the low 20's (yes, I said the low 20's) today, so we postponed our outdoor chores. Yesss!!! That meant quality time in my crafty room! I worked on all Christmas-y stuff today. I had the Christmas music on, and it was a happy day. The first card uses some new Basic Grey Eskimo Kisses patterned paper and some other miscellaneous goodies that I've had for a while.
These next three little cards were simple and quick. They're 3.5 x 3.5 and use more Eskimo Kisses paper and Papertrey Ink Pure Poppy ribbon. The three scalloped focal pieces were cut using my Christmas Cheer Cricut cartridge. Those reindeer crack me up, with their big bellies!
Check out the last photo.... I made up a cute little package containing everything needed to make one of these fun little cards! I even put a label on the outside so I could write the name of the card or what's included in the bag or whatever. I don't really know what I'll do with it except look at it, but it was sure fun to make up the kit. I love *anything* that comes in a little envelope, box, container, etc..... Tee Hee! Inchie challenge by Cindy Lyles (EHWCMD1)

Okay, this will be the last post for today. It's another card made for a challenge on Ellen Hutson's The Classroom. This challenge was by Cindy Lyles and uses inchies. Oh, how I love the inchies! Click HERE to see the challenge. I used Papertrey Ink kraft and spring moss cardstock and ripe avacado ribbon, Cosmo Cricket Wonderland patterned paper, and the stamp is $1 stamp from Michael's. Gotta love the $1 stamps! giggle.... The stamp image was colored with Copic markers, and I added Christmas Red Stickles to the ornaments. I think that's it for me for blogland today. World Card Making Day Sketch Challenge by Susan Roberts (EHWCMD2)

Hello everyone. Here is another card I created for a challenge on Ellen Hutson's The Classroom blog. This challenge was by Susan Roberts. I used Papertrey Ink black and aqua mist cardstock and aqua mist ribbon; Cosmo Cricket Jolly By Golly patterned paper (LOVE IT!); Cosmo Cricket sentiment (sorry, I don't know which line it's from); Melissa Francis glittery snowflake; and buttons from my stash. World Card Making Day Color Challenge by Sharon Harnist (EHWCMD6)

Hello! I hope lots of you had fun yesterday during all the World Card Making Day Festivities. I know I did! There were 7 different challenges posted yesterday on Ellen Hutson's The Classroom blog. Happy World Card Making Day!!!

Hello, and welcome to World Card Making Day! I've been up since 7:00, all excited to get started. I got my coffee going and it wasn't long before I got into my "special treat" for today....a DELISH bar-type cookie that had all sorts of chocolate and ooey-gooey stuff on it! Then I had my cereal. LOL...that's the correct order, right?? I've got two cards to show you so far for today. This first one is called a Stair Step Fold card. Isn't it just too fun? I found a tutorial on Splitcoast Stampers. I started on a Christmas one, too, but the glitter glue has to dry before I can finish assembling it. Maybe I'll post that one later.












This second card was made with some leftover scraps from the stair step card. There's actually no stamping on this card....just some yummy chunky stuff all layered up. Next, I'm going to try my hand at some challenges over on Ellen Hutson's Classroom blog. I am one happy little card maker! I hope you all are having a great day!

Hello, hello! Just a quick post and project tonight, as I'm trying to get back into posting on the ol' blog. It's been waaaaay too long! This project was made with my new Cricut Expression.
